Don’t let where you are get in the way of where you want to be.
There are times in each of our lives when we find ourselves in circumstances that we didn’t expect. Sometimes when this happens we feel stuck or incapable of making a change . The mind has an amazing way of justifying where we are and adjusting itself to being fine with it or. Or making it OK and thinking it will get better by itself .
That generally doesn’t happen. Homeostasis is what happens when we get used to a situation and do nothing and just stay there.
There are 3 steps to breaking out from where you are, or to at least create forward momentum. First: see, get a visual or what is possible for you and what could/ can happen. Next: decided what you want to have happen, and the most important step: Take and immediate action. And I mean immediate, one thing you can do within the hour to create forward movement that will begin to change things. It’s like shaking up the snow globe. In a snow globe, the glitter will remain exactly where it is until you shake it up. After it is shaken (and remember how pretty that is, and how magical that seems… it’s the same when we shake up our lives, but sometimes we just can’t see it as we are right in the middle of the mess!) when it lands it is a always in a different place .
As we approach another January 1 with all of our new year’s resolutions and best intentions for ourselves , my wish for you is that you make 2009 the year that by twelve months from now you will have a clear picture and a wonderful story of where you were and how incredibly far you’ve come . That is something no one can ever take from you.
